Q-Clear Laser Treatment for Fungal Nail Infections
No need to hide your toes!
Lasers work amazingly well on unsightly nails.
Q-Clear Laser System is FDA-indicated for clearing nail in patients with onychomycosis. It will eliminate onychomycosis (Fungal Infection of the Nails) caused by various organisms (e.g. dermatophytes Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and/or yeast Candida albicans, etc.).
The laser light effectively eliminates unsightly, thick, yellow-colored and ugly nails; the laser light passes through the toenail without causing damage to the nail or surrounding skin. At the time of the procedure, the infection is eliminated through the infrared laser light, promoting new collagen formation and revitalizing your nail as it grows out.
Tuscany Podiatry offers consultation for laser treatment consideration. A pathology specimen will be taken to confirm the presence of onychomycosis (fungal nails) on your visit.
We generally receive pathology results within one week of your initial visit. You will then return to discuss the findings of your pathology results and should the results confirm onychomycosis, you can schedule to receive your first treatment with the laser on that same day.
What to Expect?
Your toenails will be cleaned prior to laser treatment. As each toe is treated with the laser you will feel a mild, warming sensation. The laser treatment will take under 10 minutes and there is no discomfort after the treatment. You will notice results within 2-4 months, depending on how quickly your toenails will grow. New, clear growth begins to appear at the bottom portion of your nail as the diseased portion of the nail grows out. You can immediately return to your normal activities after your laser toenail treatment.

Nexus 10W Therapy
As a breakthrough treatment in pain management, laser therapy is clinically proven as a painless, safe and powerful laser therapy for pain relief. By employing specific wavelengths of light, the laser results in a strong anti-inflammatory, anti-edema effect on tissues. As a result the cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles repair themselves faster. Inflammation is reduced and pain subsides very quickly. Over 90 percent of patients experience positive results. We use the Nexus 10W a class 4 IR laser.
The Nexus 10W is a Class 4 laser to treat common injuries such as pain, tendonitis, bursitis or repetitive strain injuries. It’s designed around the 980nm wavelength with maximum adjustable power of up to 10 watts and pulse repetition rates of up to 1000Hz for optimum healing operation.
How Does Laser Therapy Work?
The Nexus 10 is a therapeutic laser and works on the principle of biostimulation. Biostimulation accelerates the body’s innate ability to heal itself through the mitochondrial production of ATP. Depending on the performance of the laser, biostimulation can reduce pain and inflammation fast! Very fast! The Nexus 10W can greatly reduce pain and inflammation in the affected tissue that you can feel in as little as one 12-minute session.
Physical medicine practitioners marvel at the laser’s ability to heal inflamed tissue right before their eyes. The nexus 10W laser is effective in treating heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, arthritis, joint pain, edema, bursitis, neuropathy and non-healing wounds. Recovery from sports injuries including sprains, strains and muscle tears can be greatly expedited. The effects of laser therapy are cumulative; therefore, a series of treatments are prescribed depending on the condition type and severity.
The average treatment plan ranges from three to nine sessions. Chronic conditions can be controlled with ongoing, regular treatments. Acute conditions usually subside quickly with results often noticed after the first treatment. Each treatment is painless and takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Successive treatments are scheduled as needed. No special preparations are required.
